Happy New Year again to all of you even though we are now well into 2008. It’s hard to believe that my year as president of this great organization is over half completed. I want to say thank you for putting your trust in me. And I need to especially thank my fellow officers and all the volunteers for making my year go so smoothly.
Well, Imaging USA convention has come and gone and those of us who got to attend enjoyed the great programs and awesome trade show along with the warm Florida weather. I had a great time and enjoyed seeing so many of my fellow photographers. We in Texas got spoiled having Imaging USA in this area for three years in a row. Next year it will be in Phoenix, Arizona. Make your plans now to attend.
Speaking of conventions, it’s not too late to join TPPA and attend two free SWPPA conventions in Arlington this year. The first one will be February 16-20, and the second one will be October 3-7. They will both be held at the Sheraton (formerly the Wyndham) Hotel and Arlington Convention Center. Our own Don Dickson has put together a great line-up of speakers and the trade show will be bigger and better than ever with all the latest products to help you grow your business.
I hope that most of you enrolled early for this year’s edition of the Texas School of Professional Photography April 27 - May 2. If you have procrastinated it is still not too late. Don Dickson tells me that several of the classes still have a few openings. For more information visit the website: www.tppa.org/school.htm. This will undoubtedly be the best school ever and I can hardly wait for it to begin.
David Boeck and I have put together a great TPPA Summer Seminar for you and your family this year, so mark June 22-25 on your calendar and make your plans to join us in Kerrville. We will have an outstanding print competition, some awesome programs, and lots of family fun.
Texas PPA is your association and its purpose is to serve the membership with educational opportunities designed to help your business. It is the best bargain in town! So, take advantage of all that is offered throughout the year. You’ll be glad you did.
Thanks for listening,
